When I was in sixth grade late 70's early 80's I remember a freaky movie that was on really late.  All I can remember is a woman nursing a man like a baby.  He was not normal he was like slow.  She was obsessed with him acting like he was her child.

I thought it was called the baby but I can't find it anywhere.

Yep, it looks like the movie you are looking for is indeed called "The Baby". It was made in 1973. Here is a plot summary from imdb.com:

"A social worker who recently lost her husband investigates the strange Wadsworth family.
