Question
here we go....I remember seeing this vampire movie when in the early early 80's....I might be confusing two separate movies...the daughter of a man who works at an inn is kidnapped by Dracula...the father vows revenge by sharpening his teeth with a stone and seeking out Dracula...the girl of course was transformed into this EVIL looking vampiress...the scariest that I can remember...in the end of this movie the father and the fiancee or boyfriend rescue the girl from the castle...they are riding off into the woods on  horse and open carriage or wagon through the snow...just when you think the movie ends the unconscious woman in the back of the carriage lurches forward and bites the young man....that's about all I can remember...any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Answer
Hi Reg,

I think the part about an unconcious woman in the back of the carriage lurching forward and biting a young man was in a movie called "The Fearless Vampire Killers" made in 1967, and directed by Roman Polanski. A plot summary from www.dvdtalk.com follows:

"Professor and Vampire Hunter Abronsius (Jack MacGowran) and his faithful servant Alfred (Roman Polanski) rest at the inn of Shagal (Alfie Bass) while en route to destroy the notorious Count Von Krolock (Ferdy Mayne). But Krolock strikes first, kidnapping Shagal's beautiful daughter Sarah (Sharon Tate). Abronsius and Alfred journey to the Count's forbidding castle to flush him out, but become tangled in confusion and bumbling. Meanwhile, Krolock, his effiminate son Herbert (Iain Quarrier) and their vampiric retinue are preparing an elaborate ball to celebrate the survival of their flock and their luscious new victims: Sarah and Shagal's maid, Magda (Fiona Lewis). And don't forget our two vampire hunters - as Von Krolock shouts between his fangs to his 'beloved bretheren,' "Two more humans are in our hands!"

The movie is readily available on DVD from Amazon.com, Video Universe, and eBay.

Best of luck,
