Question
I remember a tv movie when I was younger, I believe in the late 80, possible early early 90's.

All I remember about is that it took place in a mountainous forest region, maybe like banff.

and there was a monster in the forest.  all I remember is that the monster seemed to be some kinda huge deformed bear, or atleast thats what it seemed to look like.

I think it has this crazy weird scary howl.  the only thing I really remember is that "they" thought they killed the thing. and the final scene was showing the forest, and then you hear the crazy weird howl.  so they either didn't kill it or there was another one.

I really wish I could remember it.

Answer
Hi Curtis,

I'm thinking that this movie is called "Prophecy" which is from 1979. It has nothing to do with the Christopher Walken film by the way. A plot summary from imdb.com follows:

"A Savage beast, grown to monstrous size and driven mad by toxic wastes that are poisoning the waters, spreads terror and death on a Maine countryside."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079758/

A trailer of sorts can be seen here:

A detailed review can be read here:

The DVD is available from Amazon.com, Video Universe, and eBay.

Best of luck,
Ryan

I will attempt to answer any questions in regard to weird, offbeat, twisted horror/cult/drama films. I also have a fairly broad knowledge of drama and comedy, particularly British films.

Experience

I am a avid horror movie fan who grew watching Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Dawn Of The Dead, Return Of The Living Dead, Demons, Xtro, Night Of The Demons...etc. I have various Charles S. Balun books and other assorted horror guides for reference if needed. As well as horror/cult films, I watch a lot of drama - particularly British films.
