Question
Hello, i have this question for you, like back in '89 i watched this horrorflick at my uncles house. It was about this guy who had a party and they all played on this ouijaboard..then a couple days later he starts to act strange and slowly transforms into this demon because of the evil spirit that possesses him, and there was this thing about a rose or flower thru out the movie that he has to find or something. Back then this movie really freaked me out! He turned into this real creepy demon with this real scary voice, so i hope you perhaps kno this movie or kno the title! hope to hear from you soon! Greetz Danny";

Answer
Hi, Danny...

I think the film you are looking for is called "Don't Panic." The spirit's name was Virgil, if that rings any bells. The hero has to find an ancient dagger. The problem I'm having is with the thing about the flower or rose... I'm not finding any reference to this anywhere... does any of this sound familiar?

"On his seventeenth birthday, Michael is given a present of a Ouija board by Tony his best friend. At a session, Tony using a medium known to him only as "Virgil", unwittingly unlocks the evil forces of the board. Soon there is a wave of violent killings and the chief suspect appears to be Michael. He has been witness to all the killings via premonitions and out of body experiences. Is Michael the killer? Can he prove his innocence or is someone else being possessed by the evil spirit...?"

Send me a follow-up and let me know...

I am a devout fan of horror films, from the Universal classics to the schlock of the 50`s, on through the 70`s to the splatter era, and straight up to "28 Days Later." Tom Savini films are an extra treat. Ask me about "Knightriders" if you don`t believe me. Anyone else own a copy of that classic?
