Question
I saw the original Wicker Man when I was a kid and was wondering if you think that the remake would be worth seeing.  Please let me know.  Thanks,
Diana

Answer
Diana...

As a huge fan of the original, let me be the first to tell you - "NO!" Not that I am not a fan of Nic Cage, or anyone else associated with the film, I am just a firm believer that some things should never be remade... Very seldom does it ever live up to anything like the original... "The Nutty Professor" was probably the rarest of the rare, being that it was actually funnier than the original... look at the trend now with "Miami Vice" and "Dukes of Hazzard" for examples of lack of originality making things even worse...

I also find it unsettling that they refused to screen the "Wicker Man" remake for critics prior to opening... that usually says that even the filmmakers realize a movie stinks, and they want to make as much money on opening weekend as possible, before the critics can warn folks off..

Hope this helps,

I am a devout fan of horror films, from the Universal classics to the schlock of the 50`s, on through the 70`s to the splatter era, and straight up to "28 Days Later." Tom Savini films are an extra treat. Ask me about "Knightriders" if you don`t believe me. Anyone else own a copy of that classic?
