Question
Feel free to post this one.
Back in 1980 ( maybe 1981 ) I saw a movie at the theater and I cannot come up with the title.  I am fairly certain it was billed as "Night of the Demon" but all I find for that now is a b/w monster movie from the 50's.  I saw this film once again in 1990 on late night TV ( maybe USA Network ).  The premise of the film is about witches.  Here is a recap of the movie...A young guy arrives at a farm ( Mom, Dad, 2 sisters; first is cute and the other is badly burned ) and for one reason or another hangs out.  At one point the burned sister kills a sheriff or policeman and now the father holds the young guy captive in their barn chained up so he can't tell anyone.  It is reveiled later the burned sister was/is a witch many years earlier ( 1800's? ), and was burned at the stake by an angry mob.  Her sister then "saves" her by turning to witchcraft/the devil.  Now the whole family doesn't age and the burned sister remains burned but when she looks into a mirror she can see her former face.  End of the film cute sister and the guy leave the farm to live happily ever after, but just as they are having sex the cute girl starts to age/die.  The guy then turns to witchcraft/the devil to save her and she is restored to cuteness.  Any info would be a big help.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi, Jamie...

You're not crazy, my friend... the movie you are looking for is, indeed, called "Night of the Demon." It's also known as "Curse of Melissa" and "The Touch of Satan."

I absolutely HAVE to believe you saw this on USA Network... this has Rhonda Shears "USA Up All Night" written all over it... see if this sounds familiar...

"A young man named Jody drives across country and decides to stop and have lunch in a small town where, he's been told, a "chromichidal maniac" is on the loose. He meets a young pretty girl named Melissa, falls instantly love and follows her home for dinner. Dinner turns into a weekend and we slowly (very slowly) learn that Melissa is no ordinary seventeen year old girl. She's a 120 year old witch who sold her soul to Satan, and the incredibly wrinkled woman she claims is her great grandmother is actually her little sister...and a "chromichidal maniac" to boot. Seems Melissa sold her soul to save the weird old chick from being burned at the stake by an angry mob 120 years earlier. Now, it seems, nothing can save Melissa from the curse...except perhaps for Jody's love. Will he sell his own soul to save her? Who cares?"

I swiped the description from a "bad movie" website... I personally love the fact that they live on a "walnut ranch," but there's not a walnut tree anywhere in the movie...

Anyway, you're in luck... it's available on video, and, if you're a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 fan, they did their own version of this that is one of the funniest episodes ever... This is the version I have... the second I read your question, I knew what movie you were talking about.. just had to find my MST3K tapes and confirm it...

Hope this helps!

I am a devout fan of horror films, from the Universal classics to the schlock of the 50`s, on through the 70`s to the splatter era, and straight up to "28 Days Later." Tom Savini films are an extra treat. Ask me about "Knightriders" if you don`t believe me. Anyone else own a copy of that classic?
