Question
Please can you name this film from the 1970's or early 80's, made in the US. Two couples go on holiday in a camper van/Winnebago, and on the first night witness a satanic ritual and murder. They flee, and report it to the police the next day, but when they return to the scene there is no sign of any murder/fire etc. It turns out that the police are in on the satanic cult, and wherever the people go, the locals are all cult members, so the 2 couples spend the movie trying to escape. At the end of the movie, they think they've gotten away when flames spring up all round their Winnebago and the fire is encircled by satanic cult members (in robes?). I can't remember who any of the actors were, but it was an excellent film. Please please can you tell me what it was called?

Answer
Hi, Jeff....

Well, you've got me tied up in knots here... the whole "satanic" thing got so commonplace in the late 70's - early 80's, it's kinda hard tracking down all the details you have....

Assuming we're not talking about "The Hills Have Eyes," of course, everything in me wants to say the film you're talking about is called 'The Devil's Rain." But I cannot get the whole story about this film from any source... some things fit, some don't...

Can you remember anything else about this film? What did the actors look like? Have you seen them in anything else? Send me a follow up and let me know... this sounds so familiar, it's driving me crazy...

Keep it "reel,"

I am a devout fan of horror films, from the Universal classics to the schlock of the 50`s, on through the 70`s to the splatter era, and straight up to "28 Days Later." Tom Savini films are an extra treat. Ask me about "Knightriders" if you don`t believe me. Anyone else own a copy of that classic?
