Question
Dear 7devonapes,
Some time in the 70's, I went to a drive-in with my parents.
There was a coming attraction for a sci-fi/horror movie about scientists (I think they were, or at least
one of them was) lost on an island or another planet. Anyway, they were in a cave & all these bats were flying everywhere & test tubes were scattered around. There was a ‘super mod’ woman with large hair & a black muscle guy in it. Another preview at the time was for 'Torso'.  I never saw either. Trying to figure out what the movie is has been driving me crazy for over 20 years.
Please help me! I need to sleep again.

Answer
Hi Paul,

Hmm... this one I have no idea about, though I'll have a guess and say it could be "The Bat People" which was made in 1974. A plot summary from imdb.com is as follows:

"A doctor specializing in bats, and his new wife interrupt their honeymoon to go spelunking in Carlsbad Cavern. There he is bitten by a fruit bat and inexplicably undergoes a transformation into a vampire bat. He ultimately escapes, however, escaping back to the caves. His wife, infected by her husband, kills the local constabulary and goes to join him"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071198/

Other than that, I have no real idea what this movie you're looking for could be. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Perhaps you could ask a couple other of the members of this site.

Best of luck,
Ryan
