Question
OK, I have been trying to figure out what this movie is titled. I am 31 years old and I saw this movie when I was very young at a relatives house. I am guessing I saw it in the early 80's. so that makes the movie made in the 70's or sixties since I must have seen it on TV. the only plot points I can remember are that a doll/figure (maybe a tribal vibe to it) maybe 12 inches high comes to life and terrorizes someone in their home. I think that it came to life as a result of some type of curse. Plus I think that it was killed in an oven.  Kind of funny since it must have come out way before "child's play"! My memory is hazy but I would love to find out what it was, I bet it would be hilarious. I hope you can help

Answer
Lucas, Lucas, Lucas...

Shame on you!!! It's one of the most requested classics of the horror era, and it was, believe it or not, a made-for-TV movie! It was called "Tales of Terror," and it starred Karen Black. There were three stories in it, but the only one everyone always remembers is the Zuni Fetish doll chasing Black all over her house, making that shreiking little scream as he chases her...

You can find this on Ebay or Amazon pretty easily. I wore out a VHS copy of it, and finally broke down and bought it on DVD about two months ago... When you look for it, make sure you get the Karen Black version, as there was another movie with this title out of England... you want the one made in the 70's...

Hope this helps,

I am a devout fan of horror films, from the Universal classics to the schlock of the 50`s, on through the 70`s to the splatter era, and straight up to "28 Days Later." Tom Savini films are an extra treat. Ask me about "Knightriders" if you don`t believe me. Anyone else own a copy of that classic?
