Question
i remember watching this film as a kid numerous times, with my younger brother. but unfortunately he doesnt remember a thing about it. this would've been late 80's early 90's.

the film was a horror comedy, i believe the main guy was someone like john belushi but i dont think thats him.

anyway, the film starts with a man and woman meeting for the first time on a train/train station, and for some reason they go to a creey house at night time.
when they're there they notice a diamond bracelet sticking out from underneath the garage door, and when they pull it a dead hand comes out with it! always made me jump.
at the end of the film you find out that it was the maid and the butler that killed the person. im pretty certain it isnt 'clue' starring tim curry but it has a very similar theme.

any thoughts?

Answer
Hi Natalie,

The movie you are looking for might be called "Once Upon a Crime..." which was made in 1992, and starred John Candy in the lead role. A plot summary from imdb.com follows:

"Phoebe and fellow American Julian Peters meet in Rome, find a lost dog, and agree to return it to Monte Carlo to split the five thousand dollar reward. Discovering the dog's owner dead, they panic and become fugitives. Other victims of misfortune also become suspects, as the plot twists and luck and judgment desert everyone."

An excerpt from the film is available here:

Then again, it does sounds like the movies "Clue" and "Haunted Honeymoon"... sorry I can't be of more help.

Best of luck,
Ryan
