Subject: An Arp Synth in a song by The Cure??

Question
QUESTION: Did they use an arp synth in a song or an album? could you give me an example of a song/s . i would like to hear a distintive sound of that synth, maybe a lead part or something. Many Thanx!

ANSWER: Yes they did. The main keyboard riff from In Between Days is an Arp String Ensemble AKA Solina.

QUESTION: Thank you. Now, the same thing with a Prophet 5, did they use it? where?. I'm researching old synths, that's the reason of these questions. Again, thank you so much.

ANSWER: Didn't use it that I know of.  All the other models I'm familiar with that they used are Rolands, Ensoniq, Yamaha, and Emulator.

QUESTION: THanx! And.. finally, i ask you for an example of Yamaha DX7 in a cure's song, please do you a know a song where they use it? Many thanks

Answer
The DX-7 started getting use around The Head On The Door era. Really all I have to go off of for that is watching The Cure In Orange concert video in which you can see a DX-7 being used for the main keyboard riff in Kyoto Song and also using it on In Between Days in lieu of the ARP. My suspicion is that the DX-7 was probably used quite a bit on Head On The Door, probably with the exception of a lot of the string sounds.
