Jason Cooper was born on January 31st, 1967 in London, is the newest member of The Cure (joined in 1995 for the recording on WMS) but he has been a musician for a long time. He started to practice the drums when he was 13 encouraged by his math teacher, Paul Williamson. From 1984 through 1990 he played with Max Cann from Bath, and moved to Germany with him in 1989. The same musician also played with Jason's dad, Nol. Jason also was a session musician for the British Film Institute and from 1993 through 1995 he recorded with Jake Shillingford and his band, My Life Story, which he left to play with The Cure. Jason also composes and is working on film scores. Jason plays drums, piano, vioin, and clarinet. Jason is married to Alison.
