DHTML - Share data on a web page?

Expert: Andrew Hoffman - 3/10/2008

Question
Hello Andrew - I have a small call center.  I call prospects and qualify them
on the phone then pass them along to my client, a debt settlement company.
I want to be able to enter a prospect's information on a web page/form then
have the debt company able to access it.  Is there a web site that provides
this service?  What should I be looking for on Google?

  Thank you.

Answer
Michael,

It's funny you're asking me this, because I'm actually building something very similar for a client. There's no website that I know of that specifically covers what you need.

First, you'll need space on a server somewhere.  I'm assuming you've got this part already.  What you're essentially requesting is a small portal.  The portal will be password protected and let you enter data.  The data will go into a database, retrievable from within the portal.

All that being said, you may need to hire a web programmer.  The reason is that you'll need someone with HTML skills, PHP/ASP/Perl knowledge (some server-side language) and database knowledge.  This person won't need to be a pro at these things, but s/he will need to be proficient in all areas.

If you have a budget for this kind of thing, I'd be more than happy to discuss this with you.  Craigslist.org isn't a bad place to find help, but you have to be careful who you're hiring.  Make sure to get solid working examples from them.
