Experience I have worked with dachshund rescue for over 4 years and rescued about 300 dachshunds, have owned dachshunds all my life, and have worked with special needs, puppy mills dogs, and other breeds as well.
Question I have noticed that the tips of my dog ears are crusted and flaking. Is this anything that is serious? Is there anything that I can do?
Answer Are the ears getting into the food? You might want to consider raising the food bowl a bit if that is the case. It can also be a sign of disease like sarcoptic mange. Early signs are crusty ear tips. I would take him to your vet to make sure it is not an early symptom of something. It could be that you just need to get an ointment and rub it on. You can get that from your vet too.
