Dallas Cowboys/1994 Double Stars Jersey

Question
Duke,
Like nearly everyone else in Texas - I've been a Cowboys fans since I was old enough to remember! I've been trying to purchase a replica jersey
specifically - 94 Double Stars large or xl - and can't seem to find one. Large stars on the shoulder. Player # isn't critical nor is the color. Can you help me find a consistent source. E-Bay for me has been VERY hit and miss.

I hate the new throwback Jersey - They seem pretty wimpy to me. :-)

Thanks!
Mike

Answer
Hello Mike, nice to hear from ya.

I was born in Texas myself (but now a So. Cal. boy) and it is pretty much a law that you have to be a Cowboys fan if you're from Texas isn't it?  At any rate, I like your taste in jerseys.  The "Double-Stars" were my favorite jerseys and I am really sad the team doesn't wear them anymore.  Having said that, I really wish I could help you.  All of my "Double-Stars" were purchased several years ago and again since the team doesn't wear them anymore (the white since 1994 and the navy since 2003), they become more difficult to obtain as the years go by.  Unfortunately, I would keep checking Ebay on a daily basis cause someone out there WILL have one they are trying to get rid of eventually.  Either that or maybe try typing in "Double-Star+jersey+Cowboys" on Google or Yahoo...I am sure you'll possibly find some private owners or stores who have something.

F.Y.I. If you are just trying to obtain a replica, then I guess it wouldn't matter as much about quality, but if you ever intend to purchase an authentic "Double-Star" then I suggest you visit www.en.wikipedia.com and type in "Dallas Cowboys".  All of the pictures of the jerseys are ones created by me personally so make sure whatever you eventually purchase, matches what you see on wikipedia. If you're ever serious about it, I personally have an authentic Michael Irvin white "Double-Star" I purchased several years ago and it still has the tags on it. Never worn as it just sits in my closet and I am debating about selling it on Ebay myself or to a person that can maybe perhaps get better use of it more.  Email me if you're interested.  Sorry I wasn't more help, but good luck hunting and thanks for asking.

P.S.  I actually don't mind the new 1962-ish throwbacks, but wish they wore the white ones with the blue sleeves. But NOTHING will ever compare to the "Double-Stars"!!!

take care,
Duke - Dukesta22@yahoo.com

Expertise

I have extensive knowledge of the 1990's-Present Dallas Cowboys teams. Specifically, team uniforms, equipment, and so forth. I own numerous Cowboys memorabilia and would love to one day write a book on the evolution of the team's uniforms dating back to their inception in 1960. I may not be able to answer most Cowboys questions prior to the 1990's as I was but a youth at the time :-).

Experience

I try and make annual trips to see the Dallas Cowboys every season as my parents live about 15 minutes from Cowboys Stadium in the city of Mansfield, Texas. I have a library of various Dallas Cowboy books, football cards, player photos, DVD's and VHS tapes and have also recorded nearly all games from 1998-2007. I am also an artist, so most of my collections such as cards, photos, or memorabilia are not for value, but rather for reference. I appreciate the visual aesthetics of the Dallas Cowboys and the game of football. As a hobby, I occasionally customize and paint McFarlane Dallas Cowboy figures to near exact detail as their live counterparts. I also own several game used items, autographs, and roughly 12-14 authentic jerseys with 3-4 different manufacturers.

Education/Credentials
Associates of Arts in Liberal Arts, Associates of Arts in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with emphasis in Illustration. My dream would be, of course, to work for the Dallas Cowboys organization possibly for their marketing and design team. The Dallas Cowboys annual bluebooks and game programs have always interested me.
