About Fred Goodwin
Expertise
My particular expertise is Cowboys history from 1960-1988 (the Landry era); I'm also a Cowboys book fanatic (I have almost 200 different Cowboys-related titles), and I also collect Cowboys football cards (but stopped in 93). But I am not an expert in the value of cards or collectibles – so please don't ask.

Before you ask: "So-and-so" almost certainly DID NOT PLAY for the Cowboys -- trust me! Before you ask me, ask the guy for proof!

Finally, I DO NOT ANSWER “PRIVATE” QUESTIONS! My work requires research, so the results must be made public.

Experience
I had a Cowboys webpage recognized around the Internet as the authoritative list of Cowboys links, and I have a Cowboys book collection second to none (200 titles). In addition to my book collection, I have every Cowboys media guide back to 1960, which makes researching questions much easier.

Dallas Cowboys - Most Lopsided Dallas Loss

Expert: Fred Goodwin - 12/29/2008

Question
Having just sat in Lincoln Financial Field for a brutal 44-6 loss to the Fleagles, I was wondering if this is the most lopsided loss in D Cowboy's history? The news said it is the worst loss in 20 years. Gray

Answer
Gray, its hard to believe but the Cowboys have been beaten even worse than they were today.  In 1985, the Bears administered a 44-0 beating on their way to a Super Bowl Championship.  1985 was also the last time the Cowboys won the NFC East division title under Coach Landry.

Other historic losses:

48-7 vs the Browns in 1960
54-13 vs the Vikings in 1970
43-3 vs the Vikings in 1988

You're a brave man to attend an Eagles game as a Cowboy fan.  Thanx for writing, and Happy New Year!
