About Duke Ha
Expertise
I have extensive knowledge of the 1990's-Present Dallas Cowboys teams. Specifically, team uniforms, equipment, and so forth. I own numerous Cowboys memorabilia and would love to one day write a book on the evolution of the team's uniforms dating back to their inception in 1960. I may not be able to answer most Cowboys questions prior to the 1990's as I was but a youth at the time :-).

Experience
I make annual trips to see the Cowboys at Texas Stadium. I have a library of Cowboys books, dvd's and VHS tapes. I have recorded nearly all games dating back since the 1998 season. I am an artist, so most of my collections such as cards and photos are not for value, but rather for reference. I appreciate the asthetics of the Cowboys and the game of football. As a hobby, I customize and paint McFarlane Dallas Cowboy figures to near exact detail as their live counterparts. I own several game used items, autographs, and roughly 10-12 authentic jerseys with 3 different manufacturers.

Publications
I have no known publications. However, as of October 16, 2006, my written work and art has mostly been seen on the Wikipedia topic the Dallas Cowboys- uniforms/logos.

Education/Credentials
Associates of Arts in Liberal Arts, Associates of Arts in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with emphasis in Illustration. My dream would be, of course, to work for the Dallas Cowboys organization possibly for their marketing and design team. The Dallas Cowboys annual bluebooks and game programs have always interested me.

Question
QUESTION: Does Dallas have any plans on getting a starting Cornerback, like maybe a Dante Hall? Apparently the falcons a seeking a trade. Also are the COWBOYS seeking another big play WR? Thank you for your time.

ANSWER: Hiya Curtis,
I assumed you meant DeAngelo Hall and not Dante Hall the WR/KR for the Rams right?  Although it would be awesome to have Hall and Newman, I really don't think Cornerback is a major concern to us right now.  Personally, I think depth is more of our problem than anything because as you remember the Cowboys released veteran Aaron Glenn before the start of the season and our secondary is very susceptible to the big play.  We had to rely on Jacques Reeves and Nate Jones.

Plus, I don't think we can afford another big contract in the secondary.  We already have Terence Newman who is gonna get a huge payday after next season, Ken Hamlin has just been franchised, and both Roy Williams and Anthony Henry already have huge contracts.  I think we gotta spend the cap room on some other positions.  I'd like to see us get another big playmaker WR...maybe trade for Chad Johnson or Roy Williams of the Detroit Lions because both Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn are getting up there in age.

We also need to possibly re-sign Marion Barber and Flozell Adams.  I think runningback is a big concern if another team snatches Barber and Julius Jones doesn't return.  I personally wish Julius would return.  I like him so much better than Barber.  It was frustrating to me how they used him this year, but I understand that with a two-back system, you can't get all the carries.  I really don't care what other Cowboy fans think, Ithink he will be great and I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the end like when we let Emmitt go and made Troy Hambrick our starter.

Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see in the next couple of months won't we Curtis.  Thanks for asking and take care.

QUESTION: Thank you for responding to my question and by the way i did mean Deangelo Hall from the falcons. I apologize about that. I think i had to much to drink that night. Any way, I understand your answer concerning the salaries of the existing players in the secondary, but dont you think with Anthony Henry, being 31 and hurt, that the cowboys should address the CB position with atleast a CB that could be a reliable second or third string cornerback? You are very right about the runningback position. They should secure that up but they should also address flo Adams as well. With that said, personnely i do like Julius but with the way the play calling went, Jones 3 carries, i think he is done in dallas. Marion Barber  is not as fast as Julius but he brings a attitude with him every time he carries the ball. On the flip side to that, that could also lead to a injury prone career. He looks for the hit instead of the open run. My honest opinion is that Dallas will lock up Marion Barber and let Julius go.I figure Dallas to pick up a speedy durable Running Back either in the Draft or in Free Agency. My main concern still is with our secondary and the WR. The CB's are not a solid core yet, maybe because of their defensive scheme, i dont know, but i was hoping you would have some insight on any move dallas has for a CB.
Finally, the WR. I cant agree with you more about them doing something about Terry Glenn. I would hold on to Owens until he proves me wrong. He still has some of his explosion and defenses still respect him when he is on the field. Do you think that maybe Terry Glenn and a possible draft pick trade to a team for a receiver could be possible with in the next couple of weeks or months? Sorry i am very impatient and i need to know. Once again thank you for your time on this matter, hopefully talk to you soon.

Answer
Hello again Cornelius,
Ha..ha..its totally cool.  The funny thing is, the minute you asked me that, my cousin later made the same mistake himself.  Dante, DeAngelo...they're both exciting to watch.  Now understand that although I am a "expert" on here, I am by no means affiliated with the Dallas Cowboys organization (although I wish I were).  I am just like you, a big fan that wants to see the team do well that happens to know something about their uniforms and such.  So unfortunately I have no inside news as I am just left to assume, presume, and speculate just like yourself.  I just happen to go to the team website once a day to get my Cowboys fix.

With that said, yeah you're right...cornerback should definitely be addressed with both Reeves and Nate Jones probably not coming back..but I think more in the later rounds.  Maybe in the first round if there is someone worth drafting.  Yeah, Henry always seems to be banged up..but he was having a Pro Bowl year before his injury no?  I mean he had back-to-back games with 2 interceptions and he's alot bigger than your average cornerback these days.  Do you read Mick's Mail on DallasCowboys.com?  Alot of fans ask have the same questions as you and Mick is relatively real when it comes to answering people's opinions.  He was the one that says something like "you can't have steak at every position", meaning you can't have high priced great players at every position because of the salary cap.

Yes, I agree.  Barber is a beast and time will tell if he can tote the load like Emmitt did.  Also that Julius Jones is most likely done in Dallas.  Although Jerry Jones has said don't rule out the possibility of re-signing him.  But if I were Julius, why would I come back?  I mean he was having a good year (including three 100 yard games) in the beginning of the 2006 season then Parcells decides to share carries with Barber and he still managed a 1,000 yard season, but that's also when his production went down.  Then this year was like a slap in the face to him.  I think his highest carry game was the season opener against the Giants when he had 16 carries.  Even Emmitt once said "you can't do much with 10-12 carries a game".  It just angers me when Dallas fans say he's horrible, when he has two out of the top five highest rushing days by a Cowboys back in history.  In my opinion, we didn't utilize him correctly and I sincerely hope he goes to another team that appreciates him and that he has a tremendous year.  He is my current favorite player until he signs somewhere else.

As for Terry Glenn, I really don't think we'd get much for Glenn (if anything) since he's up there in age and coming off a major injury that may leave him questionable for the season and may force him to retire.  Just think how potent our offense would've been if we had a healthy Terry Glenn all season?  I really never speculate on who we should get or what player before the draft since I don't watch college football, but I think with two 1st round picks....we could get a playmaking WR, a LT if Flozell Adams doesn't resign, or a CB.  I really don't think there is a position of "need" (how many times could you have said that being a Cowboys fan that past 10 years?).  We were 3 games away last season from winning it all..so I think we're actually one or two players away from a Superbowl title.  But if we can, personally like I said before, I'd still like to see us trade one of our 1st round picks and go after Chad Johnson or Roy Williams.  Well thanks for the questions and hope some of my personal insights have soothed you a bit.  If you have any more questions or maybe just want to rant about the team some more, please feel fre to email me on my personal address.  take care Cornelius.
