AboutDuke Ha Expertise I have extensive knowledge of the 1990's-Present Dallas Cowboys teams. Specifically, team uniforms, equipment, and so forth. I own numerous Cowboys memorabilia and would love to one day write a book on the evolution of the team's uniforms dating back to their inception in 1960. I may not be able to answer most Cowboys questions prior to the 1990's as I was but a youth at the time :-).
Experience I try to make annual trips to see the Cowboys in Texas every season. I have a library of various Dallas Cowboy books, football cards, player photos, DVD's and VHS tapes. I have recorded nearly all games from 1998-2007. I am also an artist, so most of my collections such as cards, photos, or memorabilia are not for value, but rather for reference. I appreciate the visual asthetics of the Dallas Cowboys and the game of football. As a hobby, I occasionally customize and paint McFarlane Dallas Cowboy figures to near exact detail as their live counterparts. I also own several game used items, autographs, and roughly 10-12 authentic jerseys with 3 different manufacturers.
Education/Credentials Associates of Arts in Liberal Arts, Associates of Arts in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with emphasis in Illustration. My dream would be, of course, to work for the Dallas Cowboys organization possibly for their marketing and design team. The Dallas Cowboys annual bluebooks and game programs have always interested me.
Question I have a 92 superbowl ball signed by the majority of the team. Can't make out all the names but includes Aikman, E Smith. Haley, Lett, Irvin, Jimmy and Jerry Johnson and lots more any clue on the value? I have a COA from a now defunct company. My mother won the ball at a high school football game raffle in 93.
Answer Hi Duane,
Wow...a signed Superbowl football from one of the greatest teams in NFL history (of course I am biased and will say the 1992 Dallas Cowboys were the greatest of all time) plus signatures of the head coach and owner...that's quite a prized piece you've got there.
Having said that (if you read my last question answered, yours is quite similar) unfortunately I am really bad at pricing memorabilia as there is no current "going rate" for stuff like that. Unlike sports cards, where you have price guides like Beckett, there is no guide (that I know of) for signed jerseys, helmets, footballs and other sort of memorabilia as I have seen a multitude of price ranges for everything. The "value" of any item is really how much you're willing to sell it for and how much someone is willing to purchase it from you.
You have autographs of some of the greatest players the league has ever seen on that football. "The Triplets" of Aikman, Emmitt, and Irvin alone could fetch top dollar. Case in point, I had Aikman autograph a full-size helmet for me and it cost me I believe around $150.00. Now he's a 3-time Superbowl champion, Superbowl MVP, and now Hall of Famer. If you factor in Irvin (same as Aikman without a Superbowl MVP), Emmitt (sure Hall of Famer with same credentials plus the All-Time leading rusher and a league MVP), your football could be worth over $500.00 just on 3 players. But that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get that much should you decide to sell it.
Your best bet (what I would do personally and what I tell others) is to scan Ebay or other sites that have their autographs and average them all out. Add the price of a Superbowl ball and you'll get a rough ballpark price. Everyone prices things differently. I once came across a signed full-sized helmet with all 3 autographs of "The Triplets" and it was going for $1000.00. Is that reasonable? I don't know, but in this economy, I can't think of anyone spending that type of money unless he/she is a private collector.
Sorry I wasn't much help but good luck (I hope you're just wondering what the value was and not actually thinking of selling that beauty)and thanks for asking!!!
