About Duke Ha
Expertise
I have extensive knowledge of the 1990's-Present Dallas Cowboys teams. Specifically, team uniforms, equipment, and so forth. I own numerous Cowboys memorabilia and would love to one day write a book on the evolution of the team's uniforms dating back to their inception in 1960. I may not be able to answer most Cowboys questions prior to the 1990's as I was but a youth at the time :-).

Experience
I make annual trips to see the Cowboys at Texas Stadium. I have a library of Cowboys books, dvd's and VHS tapes. I have recorded nearly all games dating back since the 1998 season. I am an artist, so most of my collections such as cards and photos are not for value, but rather for reference. I appreciate the asthetics of the Cowboys and the game of football. As a hobby, I customize and paint McFarlane Dallas Cowboy figures to near exact detail as their live counterparts. I own several game used items, autographs, and roughly 10-12 authentic jerseys with 3 different manufacturers.

Publications
I have no known publications. However, as of October 16, 2006, my written work and art has mostly been seen on the Wikipedia topic the Dallas Cowboys- uniforms/logos.

Education/Credentials
Associates of Arts in Liberal Arts, Associates of Arts in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with emphasis in Illustration. My dream would be, of course, to work for the Dallas Cowboys organization possibly for their marketing and design team. The Dallas Cowboys annual bluebooks and game programs have always interested me.

Question
What are all of the different uniform changes ( Jerseys )that the Dallas cowboys have had. What years did they take place. I am talking about shades of blue on their white jerseys to the blue jerseys with two silver stripes to the single stripe with the star on the sleeve. There was also one jesey that was a doubble star jersey but not the blue  or white ones from 94 or 95. I only saw them once. They looked more like todays white thowback that kasen't been worn jet. It was like in 91,92,93,94 or something. I believe it was a monday night game against Detroit but not sure.

Answer
Hi Lance,
While I might not be able to answer your question in its entirety, I will try my best.  I do not know too much about the jerseys prior to the 1992 season, but from I've read/inquired/researched over the past several years, I believe the blue jerseys (and possibly most of the dramatic jersey changes in general) changed to a more navy shade in 1981.  I believe that is also when they made the numbers gray, with white borders and a blue pinstripe.

The current navy jerseys (nicknamed the Stars N' Stripes jersey I heard) were introduced in 1996 when Nike was the official supplier of the Dallas Cowboys.

The jersey you speak of was the "throwback" jersey worn in 1994 during the NFL's 75th anniversary season.  Yes, they only wore them once and yes, it was against the Detroit Lions on a Monday Night Football game.  Unfortunately in that game, the jersey was the only "throwback" worn because the Cowboys chose to wear their "away" silver pants and current silver helmets (instead of the white pants and white helmets).  The main difference I noticed about that particular jersey was that the nameplate on the back displaying the players surname was the same color as the shoulders.  As opposed to today's Thanksgiving "throwback" has the nameplate the same color as the torso/body of the jersey.

1994 "throwback" - white torso/small stars on shoulders, royal blue numbers/shoulders/nameplate, and 75th anniversary patch on left breast.

2004-present "throwback" - navy torso/small stars on shoulders and white numbers/shoulders

I hope this helps and thanks for asking!!!

Hello again Lance, my apologies but I must've had a mental lapse when I stated this.

"The main difference I noticed about that particular jersey was that the nameplate on the back displaying the players surname was the same color as the shoulders.  As opposed to today's Thanksgiving "throwback" has the nameplate the same color as the torso/body of the jersey."

*I was incorrect as today's Thanksgiving throwback nameplates ARE the same as the shoulder color as well.

What I meant to say was that the 1994 "throwback" nameplates just stood out more.

Duke
