Question What happened to Billy Cannon Jr., the 1984 1st round pick, after he retired from football? I grew up 2 houses from Cannon from 1971 to 1977, and was great friends with Cannon. I lost contact with him after I moved to Dallas in 77 and was wondering what life was like for him after football. I was a freshman at A & M when number 22 played safety......thank you, go boys.
Answer Well, unfortunetly, because he was such an insignificant
part of the Cowboys folklore, I really don't know what happened to him after the NFL.
His NFL career was very brief. He started out looking pretty good for the Cowboys in his rookie year of 1984. He then got injured, and never played pro football again.
His NFL career is listed as one year ( 1984 ), but he didn't even make it for the full season.
