About Duke Ha
Expertise
I have extensive knowledge of the 1990's-Present Dallas Cowboys teams. Specifically, team uniforms, equipment, and so forth. I own numerous Cowboys memorabilia and would love to one day write a book on the evolution of the team's uniforms dating back to their inception in 1960. I may not be able to answer most Cowboys questions prior to the 1990's as I was but a youth at the time :-).

Experience
I make annual trips to see the Cowboys at Texas Stadium. I have a library of Cowboys books, dvd's and VHS tapes. I have recorded nearly all games dating back since the 1998 season. I am an artist, so most of my collections such as cards and photos are not for value, but rather for reference. I appreciate the asthetics of the Cowboys and the game of football. As a hobby, I customize and paint McFarlane Dallas Cowboy figures to near exact detail as their live counterparts. I own several game used items, autographs, and roughly 10-12 authentic jerseys with 3 different manufacturers.

Publications
I have no known publications. However, as of October 16, 2006, my written work and art has mostly been seen on the Wikipedia topic the Dallas Cowboys- uniforms/logos.

Education/Credentials
Associates of Arts in Liberal Arts, Associates of Arts in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with emphasis in Illustration. My dream would be, of course, to work for the Dallas Cowboys organization possibly for their marketing and design team. The Dallas Cowboys annual bluebooks and game programs have always interested me.

Question
After learning about another Dallas loss because of a NON-COMPETENT defense,& since I'm a graphic designer, I came up with a plan to change the star on the Cowboy helmet to a "Handicap" decal. It would suit the team very well.I have run out of patience & Cowboy fans that go to Texas stadium to watch the ragbags play should put on burlap sacks on their heads and be admitted free.
I have dubbed the D-Line "The waltzing 7" and the secondary "The Dallas escort service" because it's all they do, escort recievers to the endzone. I have been a Cowboy fan of 35 years & because of free agency and change, this could well be my last season as an NFL fan.

Many thanks for the good memories.

-----Question-----
Why does Jerry Jones tolerate many well paid defensive players that week after week play like they had sex changes. I've been a Cowboy fan since SuperBowl V and I know that Tom Landry would of never tolerated this panty waist style of play. Since free agency came around, the NFL has gone down the toilet. In my heart, the only real 70's style of player on Dallas, is Bobby Carpenter. I'm convinced that today's NFL player is an overpaid 300 LB walrus that does nothing. 70's players were lean and mean.

Hey Tony,
I don't know if there is a question in what you typed or you are just venting in the current Dallas Cowboys team.  But I'll just assume that you are and I totally understand your frustrations.  Since the salary cap came back into the picture in 1994, it is hard to root for a certain player knowing that he may very well be gone the next year.  Maybe that is why some don't seem to play with any heart at all, they know their very livelihood is at stake and they'll be wearing another uniform the next season.  Dat Nguyen even said it in his book that he enjoyed the brotherhood in college than the serious cut-throat attitude of the NFL.  It is funny how the first several weeks of the season, the Cowboys defense was nearly dominating, even though they gave up big plays occasionally.  But within the last 3 games, especially the losses to New Orleans and Philadelphia, it seems no one cares and that there is no sense of urgency.

But don't give up on our Boys' just yet.  I believe with the exception of Terrell Owens, most of the team plays with heart.  I think you can thank Parcells for that.  Most of his players seem to be humble and honestly give it their best effort.  I believe that is why he doesn't want his players speaking to the media as much as possible, it kind of gives them a more blue-collar approach to things as opposed to the high-priced prima donnas in years past.  It is true that in today's NFL, it is a kind of pay-for-play deal, but even if Parcells decides to leave, I think you'll find that the players he drafted and coached will still be good players and give it their all.  Just my opinion.  Keep the faith my friend.

Answer
Hey Tony,
First let me thank you for the kind comments, it is very much appreciated for the work I and other "experts" do.  Yes, sadly, I feel your pain and frustration.  I believe we as Dallas Cowboy fans deserve much better than this, but as a realist at the same time, I have to have faith that they are doing everything they can, to right this wrong ship (if possible).

I have been a Cowboy fan all of my 30 years of life, but this was the first season I actually considered to stop following the team due to the roller coaster ride and potential disappointments.  My emotions and life just can't take anymore of this and I find that it affects my entire way of life throughout the week.  Not a healthy way to live.

It baffles me how they can have 3 out of 4 home games in the month of December and lose all of them.  Add that to the fact of giving up 5 TD's to Brees, 4 to Vick, 2 to Garcia, and 4 to Kitna of all people.  They are lucky to even be in the playoffs.  At any rate, know that there are many Cowboy fans out there that share your feelings right now and that you're not alone in your anger and frustrations.  Although not impossible, but highly improbable, maybe they'll surprise us and suddenly "turn it on" in the playoffs like the great Cowboy teams of the past.

Bill Parcells said it best: "You are, what you are" and right now we're a 9-7 team limping into the tournament.  Hopefully it'll be something to build on.  Keep the faith Tony!!!
