About Fred Goodwin
Expertise
My particular expertise is Cowboys history from 1960-1988 (the Landry era); I'm also a Cowboys book fanatic (I have almost 200 different Cowboys-related titles), and I also collect Cowboys football cards (but stopped in 93). But I am not an expert in the value of cards or collectibles – so please don't ask.

Before you ask: "So-and-so" almost certainly DID NOT PLAY for the Cowboys -- trust me! Before you ask me, ask the guy for proof!

Finally, I DO NOT ANSWER “PRIVATE” QUESTIONS! My work requires research, so the results must be made public.

Experience
I had a Cowboys webpage recognized around the Internet as the authoritative list of Cowboys links, and I have a Cowboys book collection second to none (200 titles). In addition to my book collection, I have every Cowboys media guide back to 1960, which makes researching questions much easier.

Question
DO YOU THINK JERRY JONES WILL EVER BRING BACK THOSE COOL ROYAL BLUE ROAD JERSEYS?MAYBE WITH GREY NUMBERS OR SOMTHING? AND WHY HAS THE GENIUS GIVEN THE O.K. TO REEBOK TO MAKE EVERY HAT AND CLOTHING APPEREAL NAVY BLUE? THIS IS INSANE!!!REAL QUICK DO YOU AGREE THAT IF THE ROAD JERSEYS WERE ROYAL BLUE WITH GREY NUMBERS THAT THEY WOULD BE THE BEST LOOKING IN THE LEAGUE? THANKS MUCH.

Answer
Sorry, I hit the wrong button!

Nothing Jerry Jones does surprises me anymore, so who knows if he'll ever bring back the royal blue road jersies.

I doubt if he'd bring them back with grey numbers -- that would look too close to the Detroit Lions.

Reebok has a licensing agreement with teh Cowboys -- the more they sell, the more money they make for Jerry.  That's why you see so many caps and apparel.

I'm old school.  I have a white cap, with a blue bill and a simple block letter "D" on it, which looks like the caps from the late 60s and early 70s.

I also have a navy blue cap, with a white block letter "D".  I tend to go for simplicity and timelessness.

Just because there's a ton of stuff out there doesn't mean you have to buy (or wear) it.

Thanx for writing,

Fred Goodwin
