I also know there was another song by Charley Pride called "Dallas Cowboys", which may be the song you are looking for!

"My woman thinks I don't love her, cause I'm never around."  "She don't understand I'm a workin' man, and when I get off is when I like to get down."

"Don't get me wrong when you hear this song, I ain't cheatin' or ruining my name."  "Its just that every sunday I can't stay away from that damned Dallas Cowboys game."

"Just give me the chance to see Tony D dance and let me watch Harvey Martin a while."  "I like to watch Ed Jones break the other team's bones and once I even saw Tom Landry smile."  "And number forty one, the ladies love hus buns and Raphael kicks me out of my chair."  "When the Dallas Cowboys are playin' hell, you know I'm gonna be there.

"I hope that Philadelphia, Ain't thinkin' bout coming to town." "Cuz when Everson Walls gets his hands on the ball, they're gonna wish they'd kept it on the ground."  "And you can tell ole Ron to get his armor on and get ready for world war three."  "Cuz when Randy White puts out his lights he's gonna wish he'd never heard of Big D."

"Just give me a chance to see Tony D dance and let me watc Harvey Martin a while."  "I like to watch Ed Jones break the other team's bones, and once I even saw Tom Landry smile."  "And number forty one, the ladies love his buns and Raphael knocks me out of my chair."  "When the Dallas Cowboys are playing hell, you know I'm gonna bge there"....."cuz the Super Bowl"...."Ain't the Super Bowl".... "if the Dallas Cowboys ain't there!"

If this helps, part of the chorus (from memory):

Well, just give me a chance to watch Tony D dance

And let me watch Harvey Martin a while

I love to watch Ed Jones break the other team's bones

It even makes old Tom Landry smile

And number 41, the ladies love his buns

And Raphael kicks me outta my chair

Haha, I remember that song, and loved it!  Unfortunately, I never procured a copy of it :(

Well, I met Randy White today and sang him the song (bad voice and all) and he had never heard it, but did get a kick out of it.  So my search still continues for it.

I love to watch Ed Jones break the other team's bones, ya know it even makes ol' Tom Landry smile!

Number 41, the ladies love his buns and Raphael kicks me outta my chair...

When the Dallas Cowboys play in heaven you know I'm gonna be there...

I was only about 12 or 13... I wish I remembered the rest of the words, but thats a start.  GO COWBOYS!!

I've been looking for that song as well. There was a part about "..Rafael kicks me out of my chair..." as I recall. If memory serves, I heard it on KVIL back in the early 80's.

I remember the song well. I have been trying to find it myself. There was also another song that came out at the time about Dallas going to the Super Bowl. First line, "Well, you know they got the fever down in Dallas my friend, cause the Cowboys are headed for the Super Bowl again, there ain't now doubt about who's going to win, don't you wish you could be there, got to make it there.

Second line, "Give the ball to Tony let him turn on the gas, I love to see my man strutting through the artificial grass....

I've remembered virtually every word, 30 years later.  It used to be on the local Dallas news sports spots.

it was a husband/wife duo named ODESSA that wrote and performed the song.  they used to play various clubs and restaurants in the DFW area

Expertise

My particular expertise is Dallas Cowboys history from 1960-1988 (the Landry era); I'm also a Cowboys book fanatic (I have almost 300 different Cowboys-related titles), and I also collect Cowboys football cards (but stopped in 93). But I am not an expert in the value of cards or collectibles – so please don't ask.

Before you ask: "So-and-so" almost certainly DID NOT PLAY for the Cowboys -- trust me! Before you ask me, ask the guy for proof!

Finally, I DO NOT ANSWER “PRIVATE” QUESTIONS! My work requires research, so the results must be made public.

Experience

I had a Cowboys webpage recognized around the Internet as the authoritative list of Cowboys links, and I have a Cowboys book collection second to none (approx. 300 titles). In addition to my book collection, I have every Cowboys media guide back to 1960, which makes researching questions much easier.
