Question
I recently bought season 1 and noticed the home is not the same as on other DVD seasons. Where was this mansion, and why did the writers/producers change locations?

Answer
The original Southfork was located in Frisco,TX

Sources have stated that the owner of the original ranch was under investigation for some less savory business deals and decided he did not want a film crew hanging around so informed Lorimar they would need to relocate.

The orginal Southfork Ranch burned down a few years back. It was then bulldozed leaving just a few remains.
