Question
I am an ardent fan of the show and am enjoying watching it again on Soap network.  When the show first began the show was not set at Southfork.  J.R. and Sue Ellen lived in a cottage out back of a main house. Then it seems overnight the location was changed.  I never remember hearing any explanation as to why the "house" was changed.  Was there one?  Did they just mysteriously move or did they give any explanation for the change in the house?  Thanks.  Jack

Answer
Hi Jack...

The house was changed because the owner of the original location was in a little trouble with the law. The Dallas people didn't want to deal with it, so they just changed the location without any explanation at all, figuring most people wouldn't notice. Since the show wasn't really popular until after the first few episodes, it wasn't really noticed.

Thanks for the question.

Dan
