Question Hi KT,
I asked you a question in the past, but forgot to include a follow up to it!
Your advice to me was great and it was regarding my ability to continue
dancing and to build up some flexibility. I definitely plan on spreading my
wings into other dance genres in the past. Dance intrigues me, and each
genre has its own uniqueness and beauty in it that I want to be apart of.
I'm assuming that dance studios are the best ways to adapt myself to
different styles. However, I currently reside in San Diego or Riverside(both
areas near Los Angeles) and the studios here are numerous and impossible to
count! My question to you is, how do you really determine what a good dance
center is? I definitely want to work hard to maximize my potential abilities in
all dance genres, and that requires dilligence. However, I don't think a
reputable dance teacher would hurt either! Could you tell me the best ways to
seek out the best teachers?
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Andrew
Answer Hey Andrew! Great to talk to you again!
Finding the right studio is difficult and can be overwhelming with so many to chose from. My best suggestion would be to research different options and find some that may offer what you think is the most important thing. For example if you are looking for intensive ballet training, seek out a studio that has a reputation of focusing on ballet. The next step would be to take a visit to some of the studios that could be possibilities and most studios will let you take one class or watch a class for free before joining. This will give you a great feel for how the classes are run and if it is something that would suit you well.
