Expert: MartinStJohn Date: 6/5/2008 Subject: I have been looking for a song for over four years...
Question I'm classifying it as dance- even though it has prominent world grooves. It is
instrumental (for the most part, aside from Eastern wails- or some sort of
chant from a female vocalist, somewhere in the soprano range, I believe). It
features many stringed instruments- such as cellos, violins, etc and there is a
heavy Middle Eastern/Asian ambience to it (I want to say India). It is techno
though. The vocalist is heavily digitized in some sections of the song. The
only other information I can gather is that I think it's by Ron Wagner and
possibly features Rahul Sakyaputra. I only heard the name of the artist
mentioned once on the radio- blu 102.9 in Santa Fe, New Mexico (I tried
contacting them about finding the song and they never responded).
One last tidbit- I know it's not on Ron Wagner's album, Quantum Leap. I own
that album and it's not on there.
I have a feeling this is an extreme toughie to find, but could you please help
me track down this song title?
Thanks!
Answer this one is even more of an extreme toughie for me as it's more than just a bit 'obscure',Claire.
WOrld music is just not one of my big ones, even tho at times there are things i like that i would classify as basically dance/electronic, but they can be classified also several other ways..
Case in point, ENigma, can be classified as electronic/dance, but can also be cast into the new age/world music category due to the chant and the orchestration. Many tunes (if you can call them that), such as those heard on NPR's 'hearts of space' radio program borderline on new age/world music..I like some of that stuff, tho i rarely purchase it. But anyway, i'll research some Ron Wagner stuff and see what i can do for ya.
Best,
DJ Martin
