Question
I picked up a dart board at a tag sale recently.
I beleive winmau was the brand.  It feels hard to the touch and looks kind of dry.
Other than throwing a dart at it how can I tell if it's playable condition?

Answer
There are many old wives tales about refurbishing a bristle dart board....I know, I have tried most of them!!

I have never found a method of restoring boards. Soaking causes the fibres to swell, a long steam bath might do it but unless you have one in your house where do you go??

I even emptied a can of WD40 on to an old board with no effect at all!!

Throw a dart at it if the dart sticks , great , if not its new board tiime i'm afraid

John
