Question
I have been looking high and lo for the heaviest allowed dart, maybe 52g ? I cannot find anything on an internet search and am willing to pay shipping costs from overseas...

My ideal setup would be in a bomber style and any assistance would be much appreciated.

Kindest Regards,
Chris Boyles

Answer
What you want are something like these!!....

These are my own 54g darts. The coin is an English penny similar to a US cent - I have never found a set heavier.

Bomber style of darts this heavy are not available as the 'taper' would mean the darts would have to be longer which is difficult for engineers to fabricate.

The only solution is to have the straight barrels. Similarly, they have to be thick, you could not have 4" barrels at half the width.

As you have found , these darts have to be made to order - the disadvantage is cost, expect to pay up to $90 inc p+p following the massive price increase in Tungsten bar and the fact that they are 'one off'.

The advantage is that you can design your own dart, ringed, knurled, or both.

Are you aware that the upper limit for dart weights under BDO rules is 50g? - important if you intend tio use these in competition.

this photo shows my darts fitted with shafts to take the dart to the 1 foot max limit again set by the BDO. It caused a stir when I whipped these out on league night!!!

I have 'stock' darts at 45g in my shop

I tend to use dimplex or pentathlon style flights with these  as they are more rigid

If you are still interested send me an email to drdarts@btinternet.com and we can discuss designs, i'll give you a firm quote dependant on complexity and take it from there!!!
