Question
Hi, - What are the favorite brands of darts used by professional players? Nodor? Harrows? - Also, what features are considered to be most desirable? - Thank you for your time, - Tom

Answer
Most of the top darters are signed up by Unicorn, and so you will tend to find that they use Unicorn darts, usually to their own design so they become 'signature' darts . Unicorn then supply the players with a cut of the sales revenue.

What can be said is that the vast majority of professionals use  standard steel tips. This is interesting, as most moveable/spring loaded dart manufacturers claim that this reduces bounce out.

You would imagine if there was even the slightest chance of improving your 'edge', a professional would seize it with both hands, but they don't. This tells me that the additional cost of non fixed point darts systems are money wasted.

Similarly, most professionals use the cheap deflectagrip nylon shafts - again ignoring hi-tec aluminium or spinning shaft designs.

Now I don't know why you asked the question but I assume you want to choose the best darts.......well, they don't exist!!!!

Everyone is different, and your 'perfect' darts are another darters nightmare!!!.

It is not easy to bugger up a fixed point dart, so quality is generally not an issue. What makes the difference is practice. Find a set that you feel comfortable with. Try different weights/shapes in the pub before buying.

Whichever darts you buy - so as long as you buy tungsten - go as cheap as you can.
