Darts/Dart Tournament Question

I have been asked to run a dart tournament at my local bar.  Most of the information I have found online makes it seem like teams must consist of two players.  Can each "team" just be a single player or does it have to be more than one?

Hello, Christie.

A tournament can be for single players, a "Singles Tournament" or for teams of two or more players.

You may want to have classes of players, for example players who can hit the triple 20 regularly and players who can't to set up groups where players of differing skills can compete against players of similar skills, perhaps by having all entrants throw nine darts at the triple twenty and ranking contestants by the number they hit.

You decide the format you wish and publish the rules and the categories.
