Darts - 501 darts

Expert: Dr Darts - 8/28/2006

Question
What is the rules and scoring of darts 501?

Answer
Both players throw one dart, the nearest to the centre of the Bull starts the game.

The game is straight start, double finish, 501

Each player take turns in throwing three darts. The total score for each throw is deducted from the starting point of 501.

The object of the game is to score exactly 501 but finish on a double.

If a player scores more than the remaining target score then they are 'bust' and no darts count, they remain on their previous score. EG: if a person requires 40, and hits a single 20 with their first dart , but hits treble 10 with their second, their turn finishes and their score is returned to 40 (not 20).

Players must finish on a double, bullseye counts as a double 25.
