Question
Hi, not sure if I've found the right expert, but, I'm looking for a simple database program that will allow me to create my own check database and allow me to total field as well as sort .  Hopefully freeware.  I have looked but all the database jargon and buzz words defeats me.  Incredibly, to me anyway, MS Access will not total!

Thanks Johnny

Answer
Johnny,

Have you looked at Excel? This sounds like exactly what spreadsheets are designed for. Also there is OpenOffice which is MS compatible and free, maybe start by looking at that.
