Dave Matthews Band/Lie in Our Graves

Question
Why are many voices heard in the background of “Lie in Our Graves”?  My family and I are huge DMB fans and we each have our own interpretation. We’d love to hear what the experts say!

Answer
Hi Mary Susan,
The background noises in "Lie In Our Graves" are the sounds of some band members playing a game of ping-pong during some down time in the studio.  I don't know if there's a particular reason they decided to include it, other than maybe to give that part of the song some personality and depth.  I do know it's fun to listen to!  Glad your family enjoys it.

Hope this helps,
Andy
