What happened to Joy Ride, Sugar Will, Good Good Time and Crazy Easy? Why were these songs left off the new album? I do not hate it like most people but was expecting some clean, crisp versions of instant classics like Sugar Will, Joy Ride and Good Good Time. And why did Dave go with Mark Baston as the producer? And yes I know that Joy Ride is on the bonus disc, but its a horrible version. Thank you very much.

Hi Nick! Well, I'm not exactly sure what happened to those songs. They must not have made this CD, but it is possible that they might make future CD's. I think DMB decided to work with Mark Baston because he has worked with India.Arie and Eminem and I know that Dave admires both of those artists. They were looking to Mark to instill a newfound spontaneity in the band. I'm sure we will see these songs again and probably hear them live again. Maybe you could find DMB concert tapers online and find a tape of a show where Dave sang these songs with the old versions that you like. Antsmarching.org and sharingthegroove.org are great websites to search and download certain shows. Good luck! Thanks for your question!
AnswerHi Nick! Well, I'm not positive the songs we will hear a lot of this summer, but my predictions are "American Baby", "Hello Again", "You Might Die Trying", "Louisiana Bayou", "Dream Girl", "Hunger For The Great Light", "Steady As We Go", and "Stand Up". We'll see how it goes this summer! Have fun at the shows and thanks for your question!
