Dave Matthews Band/Song Meanings

Question
Can you please tell me the meanings of the songs Ants Marching, Satellite, and Seek Up. It'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

Answer
Hey Erin... Ants Marching is a song about our population... how wer'e all different, with our own lives and jobs, but in the whole spectrum of it... we're all like a bunch of ants, living in the same world.  All the ants are different, with their different jobs, but we can't really see the differences when we look at an ant hill... well someone looking down at us would see the same thing we see when we look at the ants. Hope that makes sense!

Satellite is a song about our Earth... what we see, feel, taste and discover everyday.  Many of the parts of the song were taken from a political speech of the 70's.

Seek Up was a song written during the hard times of Dave with his breakup from his ex girlfriend. He asked her to marry him 3 times, and she declined each time.  This song is a "I'm moving on song" that there are more important things in this world to worry about and deal with that this heartbreak.  That's basically it for that.

Hope that all helps

I have been a loyal Dave Matthews Band fan (even through the Everyday album) and will be able to answer questions about the guys, their personal lives, past performances and other interesting little known facts. I have been a fan of the guys since about 93` and have seen them in concert many times. I am also able to answer questions about their official cover band, and provide info to when and where the cover band will be playing. Drop me a line if you`d like to know anything about song meanings as well!
