dose Dave Mattews Belive in God or any kind of Religion?   Jesuse or what, I hear it all of the time in his songs

I believe that Dave Matthews believes in a God, but I don't believe that he thinks everything is God's work.  It might have been the murder of his sister, Anne, that led to his loss of faith.  As he said in an interview with US Magazine in June 1998: "I'm glad some people have that faith.  I don't have that faith.  If there is a God, a caring God, then we have to figure he's done an extraordinary job of making a very cruel world."  In the March 4, 2001 edition of the Boston Globe, Dave said, "It would be safe to say that I'm agnostic.  However, I do feel as though we owe a faith to the world and to ourselves.  We owe a grace and gratitude to things that have brought us here.  But I think it's very ignorant to say, 'Well, for everything, God has a plan.'  That's like an excuse...maybe the real faithful act is to commit to something, to take action, as opposed to saying, 'Well, everything is in the hand of God.'"  So based on all of this, I would have to say that I think that Dave questions whether there is a God, but he does believe that something brought us all here and we should be grateful for that.  I hope this helps you!  Thanks for your question!
