Experience I have been an avid Dave listener for four years, my brother got me into his music, we went to his last concert here together, I have all of his albums including Boyd's True Reflections, and can name almost all of his songs when i hear only about ten seconds or less of them.
Question Actually, this is not a question, but rather an insistance on a correction to one of your answers. I have been looking through this site, and see abevy of wrong answers to very interesting DMB questions, and I would have for someone to receive incorrect information about this.
For one: Don't Drink the Water is about the Native American's, and what the American government did to sabotage their way of life by pushing them further and further back off of their lands and into reservations. The actual term "Don't Drink the Water" refers to army tactics employed by the US gov't that actually indirectly poisoned their natural drinking water in efforts to "weed out" the undesirables (The food supply they sent to reservations was also contaminated and rotten, infested with bugs.)
Also, Dave's middle name is Joseph.
All of this information can be found on the live interview sessions the band has given (audio recordings only) as well as the books, and the DVD of THE VIDEOS 1994-2003. It explains in detail what the songs and the concepts for the videos are.

FYI, whenever I answer a question about a song, they usually ask me for MY opinion on the songs, And I either tell them what I think or what it's really about if I know, so you can't tell me I'm wrong for my own personal interpreatations, cause it's my opinion, and I always say "I think it's about" or "But that's just my opinion" when that is the case.
