Is there a actual 'jimi thing'?? What do you think this song is about?

Hi Kelly!  There are a couple different ideas I've heard about "Jimi Thing".  I heard that Dave apparently named his bowl after his idol Jimi Hendrix and wrote a song about how he likes to get high with his favorite pipe.  Dave has said that the opening rift did remind band members of a Jimi Hendrix song, but very early versions did not contain the Jimi line.  The song is a fun journey through a drug trip, that also involves sex.  The idea I've heard the most is that "Jimi Thing" is a condom.  Dave lived in England for awhile, where apparently a slang term for condom is "Jimi Thing".  So a "Jimi Thing" is either Dave's pipe or a condom, but either way, I'm sure it existed at some point.  But Dave has said that this is a hippie song, so it is definitely about the joys of sex and drugs.  Hope this helps you and thanks for your question!
