What does the song halloween mean? whats it about? Ive heard its symbolic of a breakup with an ex girlfriend maybe?

Halloween is clearly about a break up. However if it was a break up invovling Dave Matthews is one of those unsolved mysteries. Many people believe Halloween is in refrence to his break up with ex girlfriend Julia Grey. Whom by the way many believe believe Grey Street is about due to the misspelling of grey. Anyway back to the point Halloween is definatly about an awful break and also many believe it is about revenge after a break up that would be the reason for all the talk about coming into your nightmares. Believe me I have talked about this with many people and for the lines to be so harsh i.e Love is hell, and are you satisfied with fucking, this has to be based on something very personal to Dave. So if it was not written about Julia Grey it was written about another girl that broke Daves heart hope that hels you out a little!
