a friend and i are working on a way to receive stock & commodity quotes via text messaging on the cell phone. do you think this is a good idea to market in the stock trading industry? we are looking at a price of $7/month to each customer?

I wouldn't pay 7 bucks but others may.  What are you going to do about the 10 cents per message the phone companies charge?  Some do it for free I guess but I know my phone company charges 10 cents.  I'd do the service free and get advertising hooked onto the text message.  That way you would have a target audience and you can get the like of "ameritrade or etrade to advertise on it.
