Deafness/Hearing Impairment/Ear safety

Hello. I have a question. I was in a park sitting on a bench and some kid fired a kids toy gun behind me those toys with no bullets just the pop. It seemed loud and i was shocked because i hate loud noises. Would it cause harm to my hearing since i already have tinnitus? I am so scared.

A sound like that will not cause more damage to your hearing.  It may cause a spike in your tinnitus, but shouldn't be anything permanent.  Sometimes the anxiety of the sound and worry of damage can cause the tinnitus to increase as well.

I would not worry about any permanent damage to your hearing from the noise.

Thank you for your question.
