Expert: Lora Banks Date: 7/8/2008 Subject: weird boss
Question My boss used to be a co-worker and now its like she doesn't know when to be a friend a coworker and a boss. I had some issues with some of the other people in my department they started kaming fun of me for wanting things organized and when i told my co worker to knock it off she said ¨ohoh now shes mad, and juts today when i had to stay at the office for lunch because someone else wasn't prepared for an assignment she said ¨now she trowing a tantrum¨i don't know how to let her knows this is inappropriate.
Answer Hi Ana -
I am not sure if you are asking about your co-worker or your boss in regards to the inappropriate behavior. Please let me know.
What you described about your boss is an issue about which "role" your boss is playing at which time. Your boss can play different roles at different times, like "friend" or "coworker" or "boss" and it can be confusing for everybody if you don't talk about it.
If it is your boss saying "she is throwing a tantrum..." then you need to speak to her and let her know that her behavior is inappropriate. Please write back and provide more details.
Kind regards,
Lora
