Question What do you do when one of your managers warns you that he might have to let you go! Well the place I work seems to be only interested in turning out huge amount of money in every week.
It's a lot like web design factory labourer you have to create more than 5 websites a week and hit the 1000 mark total.
So far my boss says I've failed to impress him and then gave me this warning. Plus I only started this job 4 weeks ago.
Funny thing was he made a freudian slip during the meeting saying we hope to see you go and then reversed his statement we hope you are able to stay here. Which I though was a bit weird. Do slips like this really reveal his sub-conscious?
Is it correct and legeal for an employer to do this? What are you supposed to do in a situation like this?
Answer Mitesh,
You may be looking for some type of hidden agenda from your boss, but what he is telling you is probably what he is really thinking. They want you to perform at a certain level, and if you can't perform at that level, they'll want to get someone in who can.
It's not the best management technique I've ever seen, but he is probably shooting straight with you.
Usually, things that annoy a person early on at a job don't get better. They usually get worse. If you are unhappy this early, just find someplace else to work.
