Expertise
Crushes can be confusing. When you have one, it can be hard to decide what to do about it, right? I can help you figure out how to deal with a crush, whether it includes figuring out if he/she likes you, getting to talk to him/her, getting the confidence to ask him/her out, etc. Trust me, I have had so many crushes that it's hard to count all of them. Ask me a question and I'd be glad to help.

Subject: Feelings for my bestfriend ?

Question
i have this best friend who's a guy. hes also been my neighbour for the past year or so. i knew him before he lived beside me, and we were pretty good friends. we would talk online a lot and hang out at parties and whatnot. I used to have a little crush on him but those feelings went away after a while. anyway, this past year we've hung out a lot. we don't go to the same school but every day after he gets home from school, he comes over to my house and we hang out. its been this same routine for a long time now; he'll come over, or ill go to his house, or we'll go on walks, that sort of thing. But the past three months or so, i've started noticing feelings for him that are way different than just friends. its also way different than feelings i've had for anyone else. normally when i like a guy i, i always tell him, but this is different. i cant find a way to tell him. the past year hes been like a brother to me and now all of a sudden i see him completely different. its so weird. i don't know whether he feels the same way, but i doubt it, just because we've been such good friends for so long. Normally when i have a crush on a guy, its just a crush and it goes away in a little while. but this isn't going away and i'm really starting to like him a lot. the problem is, i have no idea what to do. i want him to know, but i don't want to make things awkward or anything. hes the kind of guy i could picture myself being with, so how can i tell if he feels the same way? and how could i make him look at me as more than "just a friend" ?

thank you,
amber

Answer
Hi Amber,
I guess it's good to keep that friendly atmosphere when around him. Maybe you can just tell him how much you like him and appreciate him as a friend. This will kind of let him see you in a different light. Just keep being a good friend other than that. Good luck!
