Subject: Zoloft withdrawl

Question
Hi Kate,

A few days ago, I ran out of Zoloft. (I'm on 50mg daily.) It was only for two days and I refilled my prescription yesterday and resumed.

Unfortunately, I found yesterday evening and this morning this dark cloud hovering over me. I want to crawl into bed, turn the lights off (not in that order of course) and cry. I haven't felt like this in over two years when I started this regimine.

I guess the question is, am I suffering withdrawls because of the two day lapse, or do I need to go to a higher dosage or change prescriptions? The doctor who prescribed Zoloft is no longer in the clinic and my present doctor just continues refilling and I don't know how much was documented. I've had one of the most scarred lives in ways that shock most because I seem so normal on the outside. Today, I have company coming over and the tears are already developing and I don't know if I can hold on.

I'm rambling, sorry. Any advice, suggestions, comments, would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Randy

Answer
Hi Randy,
I am so sorry this took so long to get back to you.  Yes these symptoms are synonomous with withdrawel off anti-depressants.  Please talk to a certified Psychologist and they can help you adjust your meds in such a way that you will feel better.
Kate
