Dealing with Roommates - Roommate sits to close to tv?

Expert: Sylvia Bergthold - 12/17/2006

Question
I live with a room mate that sits too close to the tv and some times i worrie bout him?? I tell him that he is to close to the TV, but somtimes he doesn't l;isten, what should i do??

Answer
Hi Shawn

Well it could be for several reasons.

Maybe he needs glasses?

Maybe he is partially deaf and needs to be closer to the screen to read lips?

Do you have closed captioning on your TV?  Turn it on.

Maybe he really wants to get radiated by whatever the TV emits?

Whatever reason,  if he continues to ignore you and it is interfering with YOUR viewing the TV demand he sit back.

Or better still, shut the Darn thing off. It is mostly junk on there anyway.

Sincerely
Sylvia Bergthold
