Question I have been to doctors and have had bloodwork, lung test, and even heart tests that show nothing, yet I have frequently the sensation that I am not breathing properly...often take deep breaths and incomplete yawning. I will be flying in a plane soon and was wondering if the pressure/oxygen levels will affect me worst? I have had this issue since August 07 and it present mostly all the time.
Answer Hi J,
I doubt whether travel in a plane will have much difference to how your symptoms behave.
These kinds of breathing oddities are often related to an excess of stress.
One of the treatments which I have found make a big difference and can relieve the symptoms entirely are learning diaphragmatic breathing. And practising daily for at least 20 minutes at a time.
It is possible to learn this from a book, but much better to find a yoga teacher or breathing specialist to help you learn with practical exercises and tasks.
I hope this is helpful, if you need anything else, just let me know.
