Experience I made a decision to try to do God's will as I understood it in 1983. Question Dear Mr. Moyers ,
My name is Dinsa Sachan. I am a freelance writer and student. I am writing an article on stress.
I have to ask questions regarding the article. Do you permit me to use the answers you provide to my questions as quotations accompanied by your name and credentials? If you deny permission, I may reproduce the material in my own words and not mention your name.
My questions are:
What should be done to conquer workplace stress?
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Dinsa Sachan.
Answer If you do the will of God each day, you will conquer workplace stress. Workplace stress is created by workers who have to be right, who have to find fault and criticize others, who have to try to control and manipulate other workers, and who have to be selfish. As a worker I need to not do these things to my fellow workers. As a worker, I can decide not to give permission for negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions to take away my glad, happy and joyful emotions. In order to have the power to stop creating negative stress, I need to declare the day a joyful day when I start the day, tell the whole truth all the time, and speak the truth with love, ask questions, listen with understanding, and think in silence. We must realize that doing God's will gives us the power to control our attitude, our honesty, our communications, our ability to forgive other people, and our ability to not be selfish and to be humble. To stop workplace stress, the individual needs to do all of the above plus ask God to help them stop doign things that may be harmful to others and to themselves. We can do this by deciding that we want to stop, then admit we cannot stop by ourself, then ask God to take away our desire to do harmful things, then do random acts of kindness whenever we get the old desire to do harmful things, then focus on doing the will of God. Doing the will of God means to love unconditionally, care about other people more than you care about yourself, and tell your stories to others. All of this information is available on our Joy of Living plan that can be obtained by contacting me on my email at bobmoy@wcnet.org. I would be honored if you would give me credit for the above reflections. Robert Moyers.
