Question What are the best pieces of furniture and how should they be arranged in a living room that is 14'X14'. Has a 6' wide door in the center of the N and W walls . Has a door on the E wall that is 3' wide and 2' from the N wall. Has a window that is 6' wide and 2'from the W wall. Ceiling is 7' high.
Answer Greetings Mona,
Your question is very well illustrated...thank you. Without knowing exactly what your daily requirements are for this space such a TV unit etc. I will provide one configuration out of endless arrangement possibilities. This arrangement is very inviting, great of conversation, watching TV, entertaining, leaves the window opened, and allows for easy movement within the space. The furniture pieces suggested can be interchanged from a tailored sectional or matching love seats, etc.
a. Corner a tall armoire between the E and S wall.
b.Place a sofa parallel the armoire, centered within the room
(place a sofa table behind the sofa).
c.Place an end table to the right side of the sofa.
d. Connect a matching love seat to the end table.
(The arrangement will look like an L in shape.
e. On the opposite corner of the L (near the armoire) place a chair and small accent table facing into the arrangement.
f.Try using an ottoman instead of a cocktail table.
I hope I provided inspiration to your decorating project. Kimberly
